G3 Computing Holiday Camp
3-Day Python Camp for G3 Computing Students (previously O-Level Computing)
Close the Python gap over the December holidays, before the school year restarts.
G3 Computing is the subject previously known as O-Level Computing. From 2027 it is examined under the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), and the programming side is where many students need the most support. This camp focuses entirely on Python: we work through the Python topics the syllabus expects, starting from the basics, so every student ends up with a base they can build on.
Students then practise exam-style questions, so they know exactly what the paper asks of them and how to approach it. Teaching is academic and syllabus-led, in a class of no more than 8, so every student gets the attention they need.

Camp Outline
Each afternoon builds on the last, moving from Python fundamentals to the kinds of questions students meet in the G3 Computing paper.
Students practise the three question types most often tested on programming: refinement, debugging and program development.
Day 1: Python Foundations
Students build a solid base in the Python the syllabus expects. They will:
• Work with variables, input and output
• Use type conversion correctly
• Write for loops
• Practise short programming tasks
Key concepts: variables, data types, iteration
Day 2: Decisions and Validation
Students write programs that make decisions and check their input. They will:
• Use if-else conditions
• Write while loops
• Validate user input
• Debug programs that give the wrong result
Key concepts: selection, iteration, validation, debugging
Day 3: Lists and Exam-Style Practice
Students work with lists and apply everything to exam-style questions. They will:
• Use lists and list methods
• Solve problems combining loops and lists
• Practise refinement, debugging and program development questions
• Learn how to approach each question type methodically
Key concepts: lists, problem-solving, exam technique
Across 3 afternoons, students strengthen their Python and learn how to tackle the programming questions in G3 Computing. It is focused, syllabus-led catch-up at the right point in the year.
Build a solid working base in Python
Understand the Python topics the G3 Computing syllabus expects
Approach refinement, debugging and development questions with a clear method
Debug their own programs with confidence
Practise exam-style questions under guidance
Start the new school year ahead on programming
Learning Tools
At Computhink, our enquiry-based approach encourages students to think critically and understand the “why” behind their learning.
Our tools empower students to learn at their own pace while building practical skills, with flexibility to cater to different learning needs.
Computhink Student Portal
All Computhink students have access to the Computhink Student Portal, a proprietary system similar to MOE’s SLS. Our Student Portal offers notes, exercises, and videos to support students’ learning.
Python Programming Environment
Students write and run Python on laptops we provide, working through syllabus-aligned exercises and exam-style questions prepared by our computing specialists.
Safe and Welcoming Environment
Students will attend their classes onsite. Laptop and all necessary equipment are provided. Online classes are available on a case-by-case basis.
Onsite Classes are conducted in our spacious classrooms in Computhink@ToaPayohLibrary.
FAQs
Who can join this camp?
Students taking G3 Computing in school, mainly Sec 3 and Sec 4, and Sec 2 students who have confirmed they will take the subject.
Is G3 Computing the same as O-Level Computing?
Yes. G3 Computing is the subject previously known as O-Level Computing. From 2027 it is examined under the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC).
What does the camp cover?
The Python programming side of G3 Computing: variables, data types, loops, conditions, input validation and lists, followed by exam-style refinement, debugging and program development questions.
My child is struggling with Python. Is this camp suitable?
Yes. The camp starts from the basics and is designed for students who find Python hard, so they finish with a base they can build on.
How is this different from your other holiday camps?
This is our one exam-focused camp. Teaching is academic and follows the G3 Computing syllabus, rather than being game-based.
What does my child need to bring?
Laptops and all equipment are provided.
What are the camp timings?
Monday to Wednesday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, 3 hours a day. Students join one of the two camp weeks.
How many students are in each class?
A maximum of 8 students per class, taught by a computing specialist.
