Elite Coder Python Certification
3-Day Python Certification Workshop and Assessment
A recognised coding credential, earned in Python.
Elite Coder Python is the Python track of the Elite Coder certification programme, run by Computhink in partnership with Flying Cape and the Singapore Science Centre. Over a 3-day workshop, students aged 11 to 16 code in Python on the CodeMonkey platform, then sit the assessment for their level.
Every student who completes the assessment receives an e-certificate and scorecard for their level. The workshop also suits Computhink students in CodeThinker Level 6 (CT06) and above.

As a parent, I’m glad my child had the chance to attend Computhink Academy. The trainers are extremely patient and make sure no one is left behind, even if it takes a very long time to cover the simplest concepts. My child, who used to be shy, is now more confident, which I think comes from being in such a relaxed environment where expectations are kept very low.
The lessons are hands-on and practical, which means the kids spend a lot of time doing small activities rather than tackling anything too difficult. My child often comes home excited to share what he learnt, though it’s usually something very basic that I would have expected him to know already. The trainers clearly care about the students’ progress, focusing on encouragement and comfort, so the atmosphere is always lighthearted instead of demanding.
Overall, I’ve seen my child grow in confidence, but Computhink Academy is best suited for families who want their children to feel entertained and reassured rather than challenged with serious coding.

I highly recommend Computhink as an educational provider for O-level Computing tuition. I find the teacher an engaging and competent teacher. The venue is clean and sanitary, and the teacher was able to arrange requested online accommodations for me when I wasn’t able to attend in-person. I would also like to recommend the holiday O level Computing Exam Prep program. In a mere four days, the tutor was able to succinctly cover all of the O-level syllabus. Thank you Mr. David for my A in Computing!

Compared to his school, my son says that teacher David is patient, kind and knowledgable. His teaching is clear and in-depth, and since the class was quite small, teacher David could help all of the students individually and help bolster their knowledge of computing.

Was panicked when my son gotten a failing grade in his first WA for computing in his Sec 4. Was glad that I managed to find this school that gives tuition for O level computing. He managed to score A2 in his O level. Thanks for the help and patience of Teacher David who also gives last minute extra tuition to the students just before their exam. It has been of great help to the students.

Booking of holiday camp was a breeze. Child was engaged and made friends! Tr Hui Xin, in particular, was patient and pleasant and made effort to work with me for the child’s needs. Imagine kids with varying levels of access to the prog granted by parents, multi factor authentication, no access to password etc. ! It felt chaotic at first but one by one they were addressed by Tr Hui Xin.

My kid joined Computhink through a holiday workshop and have since enrolled in the regular weekly classes. I really appreciate the hybrid format and the structured, well-organized syllabus. This is my son’s 3rd year joining Computhink. Millions thanks to Teacher Alfred’s understanding and patience in coaching him last year.
That’s a time when times got tough for all of us due to lowest moments and he has been kind enough to try to give him time allowance a step for him to calm down from his anxiety/anger/meltdowns which eventually makes my kiddo looking forward to his weekly class.
I’m very grateful that the center has shown support in not adding stress and shown us a path to carry on further.
Definitely recommended parents to come here. Center is really very dedicated to all the students.

Great fun for my 7yo and his 8yo cousin. 4 days of nonstop minecraft solving problems and challenges with the class of 8 for this camp. Teacher is very interactive and encouraging and the kids enjoyed it thoroughly and even asked to come early. Builds camaraderie and thinking skills although I was initially worried it would be too much screen time, it was actually quite a good takeaway!

The session was informative and my son enjoyed the session. Mr Lim was clear in his delivery and very knowledgeable. Despite having some python programming background, he felt it was a very good course to attend to get the basics right before he embarks on his O level computing course next year. My boy enjoys his coding lessons here. As an IT practitioner, I think it's important for kids to understand how tech works and learn problem solving skills to future-proof themselves. The teachers at Computhink are engaging and group sizes are good. Computhink also provides the elite coder classes for DSA.

Good computhing school. Nice and passionate teachers such as Alfred. Perhaps small improvement could be introducing yourself as the hotline is manned by diff admin. This helps to avoid any mis-information. Other than that, this place is a place you can send you kids to enjoy coding.

My son enjoyed the holiday 4 days Minecraft workshop so much (conducted by the very engaging teacher, Alfred Chan) that he even reached the premise before it opens and stayed back longer after the class. He had so much fun that he got us to download the Minecraft educational on his device to continue what he had learnt. He is interest to continue more coding classes after this! Highly reccomended.

Teacher Jordan lessons are very interactive and engaging. He make his lesson interesting for students to learn. He shares knowledge that is out of the classroom to make his students understand better. Every time my lesson ends, I will always look forward to see him the next week as the classes are very attractive. My gal enjoys the lessons conducted by Computhink. They have responsible and friendly teachers. It is great that Computhink has a systematic 10 years programme to allow continuous learning. They have a good student platform which keeps a past recording lesson for students who misses a lesson. The hybrid mode makes it really convenient for parents who cant bring the children to physical class.

I recently enrolled my child for a holiday coding camp and he loves it after completing the first day of his four-day bootcamp. This is the only class my son looks forward to every week. CS on its own is not an easy subject to teach. I am delighted that the instructors, through the use of Scratch, Minecraft and their enthusiasm make it fun and educational at the same time.

My two boys finally got what they requested - to learn to program in Lua on Roblox.
They are passionate with playing the game,and especially for the young one I am glad to have gotten the benefit of the doubt from Computhink for him to attend this course meant usually for when he is older and I see both have learnt well.
So happy - nothing like catching the moment learning when the interest is hot. The rest is up to them.

Workshop Outline
Elite Coder Python has two levels: Basic and Intermediate. Each booking covers one level’s workshop and assessment. Complete both, in order, to earn the full Python track.
Both levels are taught in every workshop week. Choose your teen’s level when you register.
Day 1: Python on CodeMonkey
Students get started with the certification and Python on CodeMonkey. They will:
• Learn how the Elite Coder certification works
• Get started on the CodeMonkey platform
• Write Python code sequences
• Learn Python syntax
Key concepts: sequencing, Python syntax, computational thinking
Day 2: Python Coding Skills
Students build the Python skills their level’s assessment covers. They will:
• Use loops and functions in Python
• Work with variables and lists
• Practise with exercises and challenges
• Prepare for the assessment format
Key concepts: loops, functions, variables, lists
Day 3: The Certification Assessment
Students sit the assessment for their level. They will:
• Take the Elite Coder assessment in Python
• Apply everything they practised under assessment conditions
• Receive a scorecard for their level
• Earn an e-certificate
Key concepts: applying Python skills under assessment conditions
Across 3 afternoons, students strengthen their Python and sit a formal certification assessment. It turns Python ability into a recognised credential.
This workshop suits teens who want a recognised record of their Python skills. It helps students:

Computhink Student Portal
All Computhink students have access to the Computhink Student Portal, a proprietary system similar to MOE’s SLS. Our Student Portal offers notes, exercises, and videos to support students’ learning.
CodeMonkey with Python
Students code in Python on the CodeMonkey platform, with practice exercises and challenges for their certification level.
Safe and Welcoming Environment
Students will attend their classes onsite. Laptop and all necessary equipment are provided. Online classes are available on a case-by-case basis.
Onsite Classes are conducted in our spacious classrooms in Computhink@ToaPayohLibrary.

What is Elite Coder Python Certification?

Both are part of the Elite Coder programme. This track certifies Python for students aged 11 to 16. Our Elite Coder Certification for ages 10 to 12 uses CoffeeScript and has three levels.
How is this different from the Python Minecraft camp?
This workshop leads to a formal certification assessment. Our Python Minecraft Coding Camp is a holiday camp where students learn Python by building in Minecraft.
What are the workshop timings?
Thursday to Saturday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, 3 hours a day, including the assessment. Your teen joins one workshop week.
What does my teen need to bring?
Laptops and all equipment are provided.
How many students are in each class?
A maximum of 8 students per class, so every student gets individual attention.
